If people can’t figure out who you are you might not be able to stop being an elitist piece of sh*t. This website allows you to post the most vile and obnoxious commentary while remaining anonymous. No reason for any of you to agree with what I’m bringing up. They’ll only blame you if something goes wrong, and they will never help in any positive way. These people are not the ones I would like to hunt with. But there have been comments expressing elitism, racism, homophobic commentary and a complete disregard of others feelings and cries for help. Brace can be good in place of Force if you're not very aggressive and are having trouble getting enough hits in.I thought this was a friendly community. You're probably going to do better using them one after the other, though. If you're very aggressive, use them both at the same time. Drive for the obvious reason, Force for the 20% boost to damage and anti-apex. Speaking of wystones, Drive and Force are the big ones. So for Diablos you want to aim for the legs when it's in apex. Even with Drive Wystone, they still take less damage and it only somewhat reduces the anti-apex application penalty. ![]() These parts take 80% less damage and significantly less anti-apex application. Anubis is a pretty good line.Įach Apex monster has parts that always bounce. While in apex, monsters ignore element damage. The Honed Blade set you mentioned sounds good.Īs someone else mentioned, raw would be better. You'd be better off with a better skill and upgrading your defense. That helps, but not enough to justify a 20 point skill. ![]() (I think the event itself is scaled at GQ 140 from the damage it deals and the amount of time it takes to kill despite going full-offense)ĭefense Up L is making a difference of 60 defense here (it's 1.05x + 25 before charm and talon). With all that taken into account, I'm sure you'll get to the point where you can solo even the event Apex Jho quest. If you're having trouble still, make sure to capitalize on multiple tactics like sonic/flash, barrel bomb L, traps, meats (for Jho), etc. ![]() (It's pretty damn stupid but we're stuck with it for 4U end-game)Īs with the others have already stated, offense is the best way to go about fighting Apex monsters because no matter what you do, they'll still hit you pretty hard so you're best off investing on attack/DPS to make killing the thing faster. The longer you're taking to kill it makes it much worse for you because of the way Apex monster fights are designed. Not sure if it's very common but I think Apex monsters have slightly boosted health pools as well. If you broke him out of Apex 4 times and haven't killed him, you definitely have a DPS problem. It might help to fight the regular, non-apex version first until you feel more comfortable with a more offense-oriented build and mindset. Just play dirty.īut the main thing is that, even with the perfect build and item set, you'll have to be more aggressive and precise than you usually are. If he's foolish enough to burrow underground while not enranged, go for the sonic-flash bomb combo. Trip him, sever his tail (which will make his tailsweeps slightly less dangerous), poison him if you have a poison weapon. So if you have the charge time down kinsect, the higher motion value of the charge attack will help remove apex a little bit faster.Īnd when you do knock him out of apex, you need to lay into him like he owes you money. Not having effect extender isn't a death sentence. Reference the kiranico info and plan your attacks accordingly. If you stick with ice, keep in mind that diablos barely takes any ice damage on its legs. That said, the blos family is severely weak to poison, so it can be worth it on them. And, in my experience, that stone doesn't stay up nearly long enough to make a significant dent most of the time. Apex mode completely negates element and status damage if you don't have the Elemental wystone activated. And having both a Power Charm and Power Talon in your inventory probably goes without saying.Īgainst apex monsters in general, I suggest using a weapon with good raw. While they have a short duration, they'll stack with Kitchen/Drug buff, and every little bit helps. ![]() Bring Demondrugs and Armorskin to replace your kitchen buffs after a cart. And I don't find Tremor Res too useful against Apex Diablos (Rajang on the other hand.).Īnd don't forget buff items. Atk Up and Challenger+2 would be a good choices. Consequentially, a significant portion of your damage will be dealt while your foe is in apex mode. As a solo player, you're not going to be able to knock monsters out of apex all that often. I concur with everyone suggesting more offense.
